Worsening of the weather and sea conditions preclude the use of standard skimmer and barrier. In situations like this oil spill response can only be achieved with offshore special equipment. KOSEQ is inventor of ”sweeping arms” which being used with success against oil spills. Different and compact modes are available. Sweeping arms have became a standard equipment for oil spill response vessels.
What is a rigid sweeping arm?
It is a specially designed durable floating steel construction for oil recovery on water.
How does a rigid sweeping arm function?
The sweeping arm is used dynamically by direct recovery going through the oil slick, instead of containing the oil first like a boom/skimmer system. When going through the oil slick, the oil is guided over an adjustable weir into the oil collection chamber from where its pumped to the storage tanks in the vessel.
What are the advantages?
What models are available?
Lengths from 10 up to 15 meter. Specially for offshore and bad weather conditions. Complete with dedicated cranes.
Lengths from 5 up to 8 meter. Same concept, but shorter and lighter. For use near-shore and for harbours and inland waters.
Includes a Compact 5 sweeping arm, a diesel hydraulic power pack, an operator unit and crane in a 20ft container. Easy to store, transport and deploy.
V-shape model for offshore, harbours and inland waters. Possible to trail or push.
