What is SpillBuster Sorbent Pad?

Sorbent Pad is an absorbent pad made of non-woven polypropylene meltblown fiber, produced flat or center-perforated (easily torn in half). It is manufactured in standard sizes, is single-use, and quickly absorbs the liquid it contacts without leaving residue on the surface. It is offered in three color codes: oil-only (white), chemical absorbent (yellow) and universal (grey). For points requiring higher absorption capacity, a thicker “absorbent pillow” model made from the same material is preferred.

Technical Specifications

SpillBuster Sorbent Pad is manufactured to meet official technical specification criteria: made of organic/absorbent polypropylene, non-toxic, non-flammable material that contains no hazardous/toxic substances; thanks to its hydrophobic structure it does not absorb water, only oil and petroleum-derived substances. The product is center-perforated for easy use and has an absorption capacity of at least 15-20 times its own weight. Shelf life is at least 10 years and it is delivered in bales of at least 100 units.

Product Family by Color Code

SpillBuster absorbent products are distinguished by three color codes:

  • White (Oil-Only): Absorbs only petroleum-derived substances, remains floating on water.
  • Yellow (Chemical Absorbent): Used for chemical and unknown-source spills, resistant to acids and bases.
  • Grey (Universal): Absorbs all types of liquids including both water and oil, suitable for general-purpose use.

Pad and Pillow Models

In addition to the standard 40×50 cm pad model, SpillBuster also offers an “absorbent pillow” model made from the same material, which is thicker and has a higher absorption capacity. Pillows are especially preferred at fixed leak points under machinery and in high-volume drip areas. Perforated roll pad models are offered as a separate product on the Sorbent Roll page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Sorbent Pad and how does it work?
Sorbent Pad is a single-use absorbent pad made of non-woven polypropylene meltblown material that absorbs the oil and petroleum-derived liquid it contacts.

What sizes is Sorbent Pad available in?
SpillBuster Sorbent Pad is manufactured as standard in 40×50 cm size, center-perforated; the higher-capacity absorbent pillow model is 40×48 cm.

What is the difference between white, yellow and grey SpillBuster products?
