About Turquoise Oil Skimmer

Turquoise Oil Skimmer is a Spill Buster oleophilic oil skimmer manufactured for mechanical recovery of oil floating on water, built to run two skimmer modules working at the same time. Oil sticks to the skimmer modules and is collected in the sump, then pumped to the desired location.

Optional Interchangeable Modules

Turquoise Oil Skimmer can be fitted, with a single power pack and pump, with three different skimmer head types: Brush Module, Disc Module and Drum Module, running two at a time. Changing the heads can be done easily by one person.

Brush Module: rotating brush elements sweep oil from the surface; well suited to thicker, more viscous oil layers.
Disc Module: oil adhering to rotating discs is removed by wiper blades; effective on thin, low-viscosity oil films.
Drum Module: oil adhering to a rotating drum surface is scraped off into the sump; suited to medium-viscosity oils.

Why Turquoise Oil Skimmer?

Running two skimmer modules at once in a single body gives Turquoise Oil Skimmer a higher recovery rate than the single-module Ruby for larger or more widespread spills, while still using one power pack and pump, and modules that one person can swap.

Turquoise or Ruby?

The Spill Buster family also includes the Ruby Oil Skimmer, which runs a single skimmer module at a time. On the Ruby model the skimmer head weighs 40 kg; dimensions, capacity, pump and power pack specs are the same as Turquoise.
